Bikepacking means hitting the road, riding as far as you can, and sleeping wherever you end up.
Everything you need must be packed into the bags on your bike — and since space is limited, it's clear: only bring the essentials.
Our insider tip: Don't skimp on your sleeping bag!
It’s no use bringing the smallest and lightest sleeping bag if you end up freezing or sleeping poorly because it’s too tight or too short.
And if you wake up the next morning without having slept well, you won’t have the energy for the next leg of your trip.
Play it safe:
Choose a sleeping bag with a comfort temperature a few degrees lower than the expected minimum temperature. That way, you're covered in case of a sudden weather change. And keep in mind — when you're exhausted or feeling unwell, you're more likely to feel cold.
Don’t let the gram-counters mislead you — what’s 200 grams more in a sleeping bag? Just a couple sips of water. That’s the kind of perspective that really matters.
