outer and inner fabric material
We use only ultralight yet robust materials for our sleeping bag covers and jackets, reducing unnecessary weight.
nylon
The outer and inner fabric is made of ultralight, durable, and recycled nylon (100% polyamide) that feels incredibly soft, supple, and silky against the skin. This is achieved by pulling the fabric over hot rollers to tighten the pores. This makes the fabric downproof and impermeable to clothes moths, yet remains naturally breathable without the usual plastic coating.
We don't use ripstop fabric, but solid fabric. Ripstop is a specially woven fabric that interweaves thicker threads with thinner threads at specific intervals. This saves some weight, but it's fragile: As soon as the thicker thread becomes damaged or worn, the thinner threads are left defenseless. Our solid fabric is similarly strong to Pertex.
Our outer material is also windproof and highly water-repellent. The pores don't clog thanks to the bio-based BeSoDRY-ECO waterproofing or the sustainable BEMACRON dyes.
Cotton
Skin-friendly cotton fabrics are used primarily in the glamping sector, where we prefer robust and highly breathable inner and outer materials:
Biopod DownWool Nature Comfort or Biopod DownWool Hybrid Cotton Comfort
Lightful DownWool Jackets
Like the sleeping bags, lightweight nylon materials are used here. Additionally, the shoulder panels and forearms are covered with an extra-rugged fabric to withstand greater wear and tear.
