Innovations

Grüezi bag® is THE innovation in insulation filling, cut and materials: DownWool®, DownWool® Hybrid, WoodWool and SilkWool perfect the sleeping and carrying climate based on wool.

  • DownWool®, DownWool® Hybrid: Made in Germany
  • Silkwool
  • cut
  • Innovative features demonstrate a great attention to detail: a slanted zipper so you can rest your feet on top of the sleeping bag rather than next to it. The comfortable cut of the sleeping bag doesn't leave you feeling like you're in a sausage skin. A sophisticated jacket cut that's comfortable for exercise without being restrictive.
  • What isn't good enough is reinvented: the first sleeping mat with a two-layer construction and connectability.
  • The first sleeping bag with 3D dome mosquito net.
  • The first jacket with the insulation combination of down and wool (DownWool®) and with the insulation combination of silk and wool (SilkWool).

Why different insulations? It's physics!

When there are large temperature differences, there are different physical requirements.

DownWool®

Down, for example, provides excellent insulation but is sensitive to moisture, and you tend to overheat quickly in it. Wool, on the other hand, is robust, resistant to moisture, and provides an exceptionally balanced climate. Combined in DownWool®, consisting of 70% RDS-certified down and wool from Alpine sheep, we achieve entirely new properties. DownWool® is more resistant to moisture, as proven by laboratory tests from the renowned Hohenstein Testing Institute. At humidity levels of up to 90%, it has been shown that DownWool® actually increases its loft in high humidity. Wool also regulates temperature and climate, creating a pleasantly dry climate in your sleeping bag or jacket.

The materials prove: Nothing beats nature when it comes to insulation and comfort. It just takes the right combination. Therefore, we determine the optimal amount of wool and down for each sleeping bag and jacket to achieve a balanced microclimate.

SilkWool

For active sports, we have developed our SilkWool insulation made from silk and wool. It impresses with

  • Optimal body climate – even at higher temperatures
  • Wide range of applications: from mild to frosty conditions
  • Perfect for all high-intensity sports activities

DownWool Hybrid

Our DownWool hybrid construction is used for extreme cold. The major advantage of this layered construction is that the moisture generated in the sleeping bag doesn't condense and freeze on the outer material as usual, but is absorbed by the alpine wool and released into the cold ambient air. This keeps the down dry and fluffy, allowing it to retain its excellent insulation even at extremely low temperatures well below -15°C.
