OEKO-TEX® Certification
As of 2019, Grüezi bag sleeping bags will feature STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification for sustainable textile production.
Our sleeping bags that have OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification are therefore 100% skin-friendly and allergy-tested.
What does "STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®" mean?
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is an independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished and finished textile products at all processing stages. Strict requirements must be fulfilled in order to obtain the OEKO-TEX® label.
OEKO-TEX® aims to protect consumers from harmful substances in textile products and promote consumer awareness of sustainable production.
In addition, extensive product controls and regular company audits ensure that sustainable awareness is developed all over the world in industry in terms of responsible use of chemicals.
What is checked in the "STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®” testing process?
We have had our entire product tested, from the upper fabric to the stitching threads and all other additional parts, such as buttons, zips, hook and loop fasteners, cords, lining materials, embroidery designs, padding, labels, prints and other applications.
It is particularly reassuring that the test criteria are updated annually and the products undergo ongoing monitoring.
Who awards OEKO-TEX® certification?
The authority that issues the certification is The International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile and Leather Ecology (OEKO-TEX®), with headquarters in Zurich (OEKO-TEX® Association), comprising a total of 18 independent textile research and test institutes in Europe and Japan.
These renowned textile test institutes carry out the laboratory tests and scrutinise the production and working conditions in the companies on-site within the framework of so-called audits (site inspections).
The OEKO-TEX® Association provides a globally standardised, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished and finished textile products at all processing stages, as well as accessory materials used!
As the law on textiles varies in different countries, the OEKO-TEX® Certification System certainly provides a bit more peace of mind that there are no substances that are harmful to health in the fabrics and threads, nor in the buttons and zips.
Always traceable - guaranteed safe from a health point of view
