DownWool® - the better down: Unlike conventional down, DownWool® retains its insulating properties even in high humidity of up to 90%. This means DownWool® offers better thermal performance, even in cold, wet conditions.
-
Wider temperature range: DownWool® sleeping bags have a wider temperature range where you feel comfortable. Wool balances temperature fluctuations like a light natural air conditioner.
-
Drier sleeping environment: The blend of 70% animal welfare-certified down (RDS-certified) and 30% wool from the Alps in DownWool® sleeping bags creates a dry, balanced sleeping environment. Wool effectively wicks away moisture and provides warmth even when damp.

Avoidance of cold bridges: Our slightly wider cut reduces unpleasant cold bridges caused by compressed insulation
-
Lightweight and small pack size: ultra-light, robust and recycled materials save weight .
-
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL®?
The special feature of this sleeping bag is its innovative insulation: In a DownWool® sleeping bag, you immediately feel a wide temperature comfort range, where it’s neither too cold nor too warm. Additionally, the insulation is naturally more resistant to high humidity.
This is achieved through a mechanical blend of 70% animal welfare-certified down (RDS-certified) and 30% wool from the Alps. This combination is patented and works like a light, natural air conditioner.
Down: excellent insulation performance
High-quality down insulates exceptionally well at low weight. However, down clumps together in high humidity (air, sweat, condensation) and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this problem with the innovative DownWool® insulation.
Wool: effective moisture and temperature regulation
Thanks to the addition of wool in DownWool®, the down stays naturally drier and thus maintains its insulating effect. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture through its capillaries and gradually release it outward. DownWool® remains insulating at humidity levels up to 90%. When moist, the wool fibers stand up and even increase the insulation loft by up to 30%, further improving the sleeping bag’s insulation.
DownWool® not only effectively regulates moisture but also body temperature. Wool prevents cooling evaporative chill and retains its warming properties even when damp, which no other material can do. Wool naturally creates a cozy and pleasant microclimate thanks to its unique climate-balancing properties.
The body requires a lot of energy to regulate its temperature. Wool supports this process with its excellent temperature-regulating properties. Additionally, wool neutralizes unpleasant odors.
The result: excellent insulation and a wide temperature range in which you feel comfortable and sleep well. Furthermore, DownWool® is less sensitive to moisture. This makes DownWool® sleeping bags by Grüezi bag® popular all-rounders.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Washing
- The washing instructions are located in the sleeping bag’s inner pocket.
- The sleeping bag can be washed with down detergent at a maximum of 30 °C / 86 °F by hand or in the washing machine on a wool cycle. Please turn it inside out, close the zipper, do an extra rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
- Remove the item from the machine, fluff it a bit, and run another spin cycle at a maximum of 600 rpm.
Drying
- Dry in a tumble dryer at max. 60 °C / 140 °F and definitely add 2–3 tennis balls to help loosen the filling.
- Perform multiple drying cycles and after each cycle, remove the item from the dryer, shake it well to loosen, and allow it to cool between cycles.
- The dryer must be set to a timed program to fully dry the down.
- If no dryer is used, the sleeping bag can be laid on a drying rack on sunny days and frequently shaken to allow air to circulate from top and bottom.
When is the drying process complete?
If the item still does not regain its original thickness, repeat the drying cycles until the sleeping bag feels fuller than before.
Depending on the waterproofness of the outer material, the drying process can vary in length (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
The down must be fully dried. If the sleeping bag is not properly dried and loosened, there is a risk that the down feathers will clump, which can irreparably damage the sleeping bag. You can tell the product is fully dry when it feels fuller and thicker than before. Damp down can smell unpleasant, but this odor disappears after drying.
TIP
- Down sleeping bags should be dried from time to time or after each trip with tennis balls in the dryer to remove excess moisture.
- Sleeping bags must be stored open and dry in the storage bag.
- When packing into the compression sack, stuff the sleeping bag with the foot end first, do not roll or fold it.
- Better than washing is airing out a sleeping bag. DownWool® sleeping bags only need washing rarely because wool naturally has odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent properties. For small external dirt, we recommend only gently cleaning the spot (see above). Greasy or heavily soiled sleeping bags can be washed in the machine.
- Always use a sleeping pad under your sleeping bag because the insulation compresses downward and thus cannot store air or warmth. More info on the right sleeping pad can be found here.
SUITABLE ACCESSORIES
