High-quality 3-season sleeping bag

Spring through fall is the best season for camping and caravanning. The 3-season sleeping bag "Biopod DownWool Subzero Comfort" is the perfect companion.

Grüezi bag® sleeping bags offer the best sleeping comfort and functionality

Grüezi bag sleeping bags have received numerous awards for their excellent insulation and well-thought-out designs.

  • DownWool® - the better down: Unlike conventional down, DownWool® retains its insulating properties even in high humidity of up to 90%. This means DownWool® offers better thermal performance, even in cold, wet conditions.
  • Wider temperature range: DownWool® sleeping bags have a wider temperature range in which you feel comfortable. Wool balances out temperature fluctuations.
  • Drier sleeping environment: The blend of 70% animal welfare-certified down (RDS-certified) and 30% wool from the Alps in DownWool® sleeping bags creates a dry, balanced sleeping environment. Wool effectively wicks away moisture and provides warmth even when damp.
  • Best sleep quality:longer sleep, faster falling asleep and better sleep through the night, all thanks to the wool content in the DownWool® insulation filling
  • Well-thought-out cut for optimal freedom of movement: The comfortable cut allows the body to assume a relaxed position, ensuring a peaceful, restful sleep. Even in the mummy shape, you can sleep more soundly, as you can turn around both on your side with your leg bent and within the sleeping bag.
  • Avoidance of cold bridges: Our slightly wider cut reduces unpleasant cold bridges caused by compressed insulation
  • Lightweight and small pack size: ultra-light, robust and recycled materials save weight .
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.

FEATURES

  • Pillow compartment:If you slide a fleece jacket, for example, into the pillow compartment, the sleeping bag has a non-slip pillow.
  • Adjustable hoodwithface baffle:The thermal baffle adapts perfectly to the shape of your head. When it's cold, only a small face hole remains open, thus reducing heat loss from the face.
  • 3D thermal collar:Closes automatically in the zipper area, so there is no cold bridge in the zipper area.
  • Drawstring pocket:  To ensure that the drawstring on the thermal collar does not get in the way, it is safely stored in a simple drawstring pocket.
  • Inside & outside pocket: For valuables and things you prefer to keep close to you.
  • Zipper
    • Two-way auto-lock zipper: The zipper can be opened and closed from either end, inside or outside. The auto-lock prevents it from opening accidentally.
    • White zipper: So you can find the zipper more easily in the dark.
    • Zipper with anti-snag zipper and lined robust webbing:This makes the zipper even easier to operate without pinching the outer fabric.
    • Zipper with linedzipper cover:so that heat cannot escape and no cold bridges are created.
  • Chamber construction: H-chambers, V-shaped (on the top), pre-shaped foot area with several chambers
  • Can be connected: The sleeping bag can be connected to another “Biopod DownWool Subzero Comfort” sleeping bag to create a double sleeping bag (select the left and right zip versions so that they close together).
  • Convertible to a blanket: can be opened and used as a large blanket (160 cm wide).
  • Scope of delivery: sleeping bag, compression bag, storage bag.

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL®?

What makes this sleeping bag special is its innovative insulation: In a DownWool® sleeping bag, you immediately feel the wide comfort temperature range—neither too cold nor too warm. Additionally, the insulation is naturally more resistant to high humidity.

This is achieved through a mechanical blend of 70% animal welfare-certified down (RDS-certified) and 30% wool from the Alps. This combination is patent-pending and acts like a lightweight, natural air conditioner.

Down: Excellent insulation performance

High-quality down provides exceptional insulation at low weight. However, down clumps in high humidity (air, sweat, condensation) and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this issue with the innovative DownWool® insulation.

Wool: Effective moisture and temperature regulation

Thanks to the addition of wool, the down stays naturally drier and retains its insulating properties. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture through its capillaries and release it gradually to the outside.
DownWool® remains insulating even at humidity levels of up to 90%. The wool fibers stand upright when moist, increasing the loft (insulation volume) by up to 30%, further enhancing the sleeping bag’s insulation.
DownWool® regulates not only moisture but also body temperature effectively. Wool prevents evaporative cooling and retains warmth even when damp—something no other material can do. Wool naturally creates a pleasant microclimate due to its unique climate-balancing properties.
The body uses a lot of energy to regulate its temperature—wool supports this process with its excellent temperature-balancing characteristics.
Wool also neutralizes unpleasant odors.

The result: Outstanding insulation and a wide comfort temperature range that helps you sleep better. DownWool® is also more resistant to moisture, making DownWool® sleeping bags from Grüezi bag® popular all-rounders.

CARE

Washing

  • The washing instructions are located in the inside pocket of the sleeping bag.
The sleeping bag can be washed by hand or in the washing machine on the wool cycle using a down detergent at max. 30 °C / 86 °F.
  • Turn inside out, close the zipper, run an extra rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
  • Remove from the machine, loosen gently, and spin again at max. 600 rpm.

Drying

  • Tumble dry at max. 60 °C / 140 °F and add 2–3 tennis balls to help loosen the filling.
  • Repeat drying cycles several times, taking the sleeping bag out between cycles to shake and fluff it, and allow it to cool.
  • Use a time program to ensure the down is completely dry.
  • If no dryer is available, lay it flat on a drying rack in the sun and shake frequently so air reaches both sides.

When is drying finished?

If the sleeping bag hasn’t regained its original loft, repeat drying until it feels fuller than before.
Depending on the fabric’s waterproofing, drying may take at least 2 days.
Down must be completely dry. If not properly dried and fluffed, clumping can occur, potentially damaging the sleeping bag beyond repair.
A fully dry product feels full and thick again. Damp down may smell musty—this disappears after thorough drying.

TIP

  • Down sleeping bags should be dried with tennis balls from time to time or after every trip to remove excess moisture.
  • Sleeping bags should be stored open and dry in their storage sack.
When packing into the compression sack, stuff the bag starting with the foot section—do not roll or fold.
  • Ventilation is better than frequent washing. DownWool® sleeping bags need washing only rarely, as wool naturally resists odor and dirt.
  • For minor stains, gently spot clean. Heavily soiled bags can be machine washed.
  • Always use a sleeping mat under the bag, as insulation compresses underneath and cannot retain air or warmth. More info on choosing the right sleeping mat is available on the website here.
