Grüezi bag® sleeping bags offer the best sleeping comfort and functionality
Grüezi bag sleeping bags have received numerous awards for their excellent insulation and well-thought-out designs.
-
DownWool hybrid construction for drier down : With conventional winter sleeping bags, moisture often condenses on the inside of the outer material, dripping onto the down and reducing its insulation performance. Grüezi bag® takes an innovative approach: A layer of Alpine wool reliably protects the high-quality, animal welfare-certified (RDS-certified) European goose down (fill power 800+ cuin) from moisture. The wool layer absorbs the resulting moisture, transports it to the outside, and keeps the down permanently dry. The result: optimal protection against moisture from both inside and out – and consistently high insulation performance.
-
Wider temperature range: DownWool hybrid sleeping bags have a wider temperature range in which you feel comfortable. Wool balances out temperature fluctuations.
-
More sleep, more energy: The body needs a lot of energy to regulate its temperature. Wool supports this process thanks to its excellent temperature-regulating properties.
-
Well-thought-out cut for optimal freedom of movement: The comfortable cut allows the body to assume a relaxed position, ensuring a peaceful, restful sleep. Even in the mummy shape, you can sleep more soundly, as you can turn around both on your side with your leg bent and within the sleeping bag.
-
Lightweight and small when packed: thanks to the body-fitting mummy shape.
-
Prevention of cold bridges: An Alpine wool layer construction on the top as well as an elaborate chamber system consisting of box and H-chambers (V-shaped) and additional side chambers guarantee even heat distribution, prevent cold bridges and ensure that the down does not slip.
-
Integrated carbon heating element: a backup for emergencies such as illness or a sudden drop in temperature (just 20 minutes of preheating is sufficient for the entire night).
-
Anti-slip studs: They prevent slipping off the insulation mat and thus ensure a stable sleeping place.
-
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.

What is DownWool-Hybrid?
The special feature of this sleeping bag is its innovative hybrid insulation. The insulation is naturally more resistant to high humidity. In a DownWool-Hybrid sleeping bag, you immediately feel a wide temperature comfort range where you’re neither too cold nor too warm.
This is achieved through an innovative layered construction using high-quality, animal welfare-certified (RDS-certified) European goose down (800+ cuin) combined with a layer of wool from the Alps. This patented combination acts like a light and natural air conditioner.
Down: excellent insulation only when dry!
High-quality down insulates exceptionally well at low weight. However, down clumps when exposed to high humidity (air, sweat, condensation) and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this problem with the innovative two-layer construction of wool and down.
Wool: effective moisture and temperature regulation
Thanks to the wool layer in DownWool-Hybrid, the down naturally stays drier and maintains its insulating effect. In winter temperatures, a person can sweat up to 1.5 liters overnight. This moisture evaporates inside the sleeping bag and condenses on the inside of the outer shell at freezing temperatures, dripping onto the down and reducing its insulation. The wool layer in Grüezi bag® hybrid sleeping bags absorbs moisture and releases it outward, keeping the down dry and preserving its high insulation capacity. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture through its capillaries and gradually release it outside.
DownWool-Hybrid not only effectively regulates moisture but also body temperature. Wool prevents cooling evaporation chill and retains its warming properties even when damp, which no other material can do. Wool naturally creates a cozy microclimate through its unique climate-regulating properties. Additionally, wool neutralizes unpleasant odors.
The result: excellent insulation and a wide temperature range in which you feel comfortable and sleep well. DownWool-Hybrid is also less sensitive to high humidity, making Grüezi bag® sleeping bags powerful options for sub-freezing conditions.
What is a Carbon Heating Element?
A sleeping bag only stores the heat released by the body. But sometimes, a person can no longer warm themselves or the sleeping bag sufficiently due to exhaustion or illness. Especially the foot area can be hard to warm with cold feet. For this reason, this sleeping bag includes a heating element (Grüezi bag® Carbon Heating Element), which can be powered by a standard power bank.
Within about 15 minutes, the sleeping bag becomes cozy warm.
The carbon heating element is designed to limit the heat output to about 40 °C (104 °F) to prevent sweating and resulting moisture that could cause chill.
The heating element is integrated into the foot section so the warmth distributes evenly from bottom to top and keeps a safe distance from the body to ensure peaceful sleep.
The heating part is washable and can be washed together with the sleeping bag.
Please follow the warning and safety instructions.

Care Instructions
Washing
- The washing instructions are inside the sleeping bag’s inner pocket.
- The sleeping bag can be washed by hand or in a washing machine’s wool cycle at max. 30 °C / 86 °F with a down detergent. Turn inside out, close the zipper, do an extra rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
- Remove from the machine, fluff up, and run a spin cycle at max. 600 rpm again.
Drying
- Tumble dry at max. 60 °C / 140 °F with 2-3 tennis balls to help fluff it up.
- Do several drying cycles, shaking and fluffing the bag between each cycle and allowing it to cool off.
- The dryer must be set to a timed program to fully dry the down.
- If no dryer is available, place the sleeping bag on a drying rack on sunny days and shake it frequently to allow air to circulate.
When is the drying process finished?
- If the bag hasn’t regained its original loft, repeat drying cycles until it feels fuller than before.
- Depending on the waterproofness of the outer material, drying time can vary (minimum 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
- The down must be fully dry. If not properly dried and fluffed, down feathers can clump and damage the sleeping bag irreparably. You can tell the product is fully dry when it feels fuller and thicker than before. Damp down may smell unpleasant, but the odor disappears after drying.
Tip
- Down sleeping bags should be dried with tennis balls in the dryer occasionally or after every trip to remove excess moisture.
- Sleeping bags must be stored open and dry in a storage sack.
When packing into a compression sack, stuff the sleeping bag foot-first rather than rolling or folding it.
- Better than washing is airing out a sleeping bag. DownWool-Hybrid® sleeping bags rarely need washing because wool naturally repels odors and dirt. For small surface stains, gently clean only the spot (see above); greasy or heavily soiled bags can be machine washed.
- Under every sleeping bag, use a sleeping pad because the insulation compresses underneath and cannot store air or warmth. More info about the right sleeping pad can be found here.
