Grüezi bag® sleeping bags offer the best sleeping comfort and functionality
Grüezi bag sleeping bags have received numerous awards for their excellent insulation and well-thought-out designs.
-
DownWool hybrid construction for drier down : With conventional winter sleeping bags, moisture often condenses on the inside of the outer material, dripping onto the down and reducing its insulation performance. Grüezi bag® takes an innovative approach: A layer of Alpine wool reliably protects the high-quality, animal welfare-certified (RDS-certified) European goose down (fill power 800+ cuin) from moisture. The wool layer absorbs the resulting moisture, transports it to the outside, and keeps the down permanently dry. The result: optimal protection against moisture from both inside and out – and consistently high insulation performance.
-
Wider temperature range: DownWool hybrid sleeping bags have a wider temperature range in which you feel comfortable. Wool balances out temperature fluctuations.
-
More sleep, more energy: The body needs a lot of energy to regulate its temperature. Wool supports this process thanks to its excellent temperature-regulating properties.
-
Well-thought-out cut for optimal freedom of movement: The comfortable cut allows the body to assume a relaxed position, ensuring a peaceful, restful sleep. Even in the mummy shape, you can sleep more soundly, as you can turn around both on your side with your leg bent and within the sleeping bag.
-
Lightweight and small when packed: thanks to the body-fitting mummy shape.
-
Prevention of cold bridges: An Alpine wool layer construction on the top as well as an elaborate chamber system consisting of box and H-chambers (V-shaped) and additional side chambers guarantee even heat distribution, prevent cold bridges and ensure that the down does not slip.
-
Integrated carbon heating element: a backup for emergencies such as illness or a sudden drop in temperature (just 20 minutes of preheating is sufficient for the entire night).
-
Anti-slip studs: They prevent slipping off the insulation mat and thus ensure a stable sleeping place.
-
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL-HYBRID?
The special feature of this sleeping bag is its innovative hybrid insulation, which is naturally resistant to high humidity. In a DownWool-Hybrid sleeping bag, you'll immediately notice a wide comfort temperature range in which you feel neither too cold nor too warm.
This is achieved through an innovative layered construction of high-quality, animal welfare-certified (RDS-certified) European goose down (800+ cuin) and a layer of Alpine wool. This patented combination acts like a light, natural air conditioner.
Down: Excellent insulation performance – but only when dry
High-quality down insulates extremely well at a low weight. However, down clumps up in high humidity (air, sweat, condensation) and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this problem with an innovative 2-layer construction of wool and down.
Wool: Effective moisture and temperature regulation
Thanks to the wool layer in the DownWool-Hybrid, the down stays naturally drier and thus retains its insulating power. In winter temperatures, the human body sweats up to 1.5 liters during the night. This moisture evaporates inside the sleeping bag, condenses on the inside of the outer shell in sub-zero temperatures, and drips onto the down, reducing its insulation. The wool layer in Grüezi bag® hybrid sleeping bags absorbs this moisture and releases it outward, keeping the down dry and insulating.
Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture through its capillaries and slowly release it outward. DownWool-Hybrid regulates not only moisture but also body temperature. Wool prevents evaporative cooling and retains warmth even when damp – something no other material can do. It also naturally creates a cozy microclimate thanks to its unique climate-balancing properties. Additionally, wool neutralizes unpleasant odors.
The result: Excellent insulation and a wide comfort temperature range in which you can sleep well. DownWool-Hybrid is less sensitive to high humidity, making Grüezi bag® sleeping bags highly effective even below freezing temperatures.
WHAT IS A CARBON HEATING ELEMENT?
A sleeping bag only stores the heat emitted by your body. But sometimes, a person is too exhausted or ill to generate enough warmth to heat themselves or the sleeping bag – especially the foot area, which is notoriously hard to warm when your feet are cold. That’s why this sleeping bag includes an integrated heating element (Grüezi bag® Carbon Heating Element), which can be powered by a standard power bank.
The sleeping bag warms up to a cozy temperature in about 15 minutes.
The carbon heating element is designed to max out at around 40 °C (104 °F) to avoid sweating, which could otherwise lead to dampness and cold. It's integrated into the foot section, allowing heat to rise evenly upward, with enough distance from the body to ensure restful sleep.
The heating element is washable and can be washed along with the sleeping bag.
Please observe the warnings and safety instructions.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Washing
- The washing instructions are located inside the sleeping bag.
- Wash by hand or in a washing machine using a wool cycle and down detergent at max. 30 °C (86 °F). Turn inside out, close all zippers, run an extra rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
- After washing, loosen up the sleeping bag and spin again at max. 600 rpm.
Drying
- Dry in a tumble dryer at max. 60 °C (140 °F) and always add 2–3 tennis balls to help fluff the filling.
- Repeat drying cycles as needed, removing the sleeping bag in between to fluff and cool it.
- Use a timed drying program to ensure the down is fully dry.
- If no dryer is available, lay the sleeping bag flat on a drying rack in the sun and shake it out frequently to allow airflow from above and below.
When is drying complete?
The sleeping bag should feel fuller and puffier than before. If it still feels flat, repeat the drying process. Depending on the fabric, drying may take at least two days.
Fully dry down should no longer smell. Damp down can smell musty, but this odor disappears once completely dry.
If not dried and fluffed properly, down can clump and permanently damage the sleeping bag.
Tips
Down sleeping bags should be tumble dried with tennis balls occasionally or after each trip to remove excess moisture.
Store open and dry in a storage bag – never compressed.
When packing, stuff the sleeping bag foot first into the compression sack – don’t roll or fold it.
Airing is better than frequent washing. Thanks to wool’s natural odor- and dirt-resistant properties, DownWool-Hybrid® sleeping bags rarely need washing. For minor stains, clean only the dirty area. If the entire bag is soiled, machine wash as described.
Always use a sleeping pad under the bag – insulation gets compressed underneath and can’t retain heat. More info on choosing the right sleeping pad can be found [here].
