Grüezi bag® sleeping bags offer the best sleeping comfort and functionality
Grüezi bag sleeping bags have received numerous awards for their excellent insulation and well-thought-out designs.
-
DownWool® - the better down: Unlike conventional down, DownWool® retains its insulating properties even in high humidity of up to 90%. This means DownWool® offers better thermal performance, even in cold, wet conditions.
-
Wider temperature range: DownWool® sleeping bags have a wider temperature range where you feel comfortable. Wool balances temperature fluctuations like a light natural air conditioner.
-
Drier sleeping environment: The blend of 70% animal welfare-certified down (RDS-certified) and 30% wool from the Alps in DownWool® sleeping bags creates a dry, balanced sleeping environment. Wool effectively wicks away moisture and provides warmth even when damp.
-
Best sleep quality: longer sleep, faster falling asleep and better sleep through the night, all thanks to the wool content in the DownWool® insulation filling
-
Well-thought-out cut for optimal freedom of movement: The comfortable cut allows the body to assume a relaxed position, ensuring a peaceful, restful sleep. Even in the mummy shape, you can sleep more soundly, as you can turn around both on your side with your leg bent and within the sleeping bag.
-
Avoidance of cold bridges: Our slightly wider cut reduces unpleasant cold bridges caused by compressed insulation
-
Lightweight and small pack size: ultra-light, robust and recycled materials save weight .
-
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.
FEATURES

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL®?
The special feature of this sleeping bag is its innovative insulation: In a DownWool® sleeping bag, you immediately feel the wide temperature comfort range in which you are neither too cold nor too warm. Additionally, the insulation is naturally more resistant to high humidity.
This is achieved through a mechanical blend of 70% RDS-certified down and 30% wool from the Alps. This combination is patent-pending and acts like a light and natural air conditioning system.
Down: excellent insulation performance
High-quality down insulates exceptionally well with minimal weight. However, down clumps under high humidity (air, sweat, condensation) and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this problem with the innovative DownWool® insulation.
Wool: effective moisture and temperature regulation
Thanks to the addition of wool in DownWool®, the down naturally stays drier and thus retains its insulating effect. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture through its capillaries and gradually release it outward.
DownWool® continues to insulate even at humidity levels up to 90%. When moist, the wool fibers stand up and increase loft by up to 30%, further improving the sleeping bag’s insulation.
DownWool® not only regulates moisture effectively but also body temperature. Wool prevents chilling through evaporation and retains its warming properties even when damp, unlike any other material. Wool naturally creates a pleasant microclimate due to its unique temperature-balancing properties.
The body uses a lot of energy to regulate temperature. Wool supports this process thanks to its excellent temperature-regulating capabilities.
Wool also neutralizes unpleasant odors.
The result: excellent insulation and a wide comfort temperature range in which you sleep well and feel great. DownWool® is also more resistant to moisture, making DownWool® sleeping bags from Grüezi bag® popular all-rounders.

CARE
-
Washing
The washing instructions are located in the inner pocket of the sleeping bag.
- The sleeping bag can be washed by hand or in the washing machine on a wool cycle at a maximum of 30 °C/86 °F using a down detergent. Turn inside out, close the zipper, perform an extra rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
- Remove the item from the machine, loosen it slightly, and run another spin cycle at a maximum of 600 rpm.
-
Drying
Tumble dry at a maximum of 60 °C/140 °F and be sure to add 2–3 tennis balls for better loosening.
- Run multiple dryer cycles and after each one, remove the item, fluff it thoroughly, and let it cool down.
- The dryer must be set to a timed program to ensure the down is completely dry.
- If a dryer is not available, the sleeping bag can be placed on a drying rack on sunny days and fluffed frequently so that air can reach it from both sides.
When is the drying process complete?
- If the item has not returned to its original loft, repeat the drying cycles until the sleeping bag feels fuller than before.
- Depending on the water resistance of the outer material, the drying time can vary (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
- The down must be fully dry. If the sleeping bag is not properly dried and fluffed, the down can clump and be permanently damaged.
- You can tell it’s fully dry when it feels fuller and thicker than before. Damp down may have an odor, but this disappears once it is completely dry.
TIP
- Down sleeping bags should be tumble-dried with tennis balls from time to time or after each tour to remove excess moisture.
- Sleeping bags must be stored open and dry in the storage sack.
- When packing into the compression sack, the sleeping bag should be stuffed in foot-end first, not rolled or folded.
- Air-drying is better than washing. DownWool® sleeping bags rarely need to be washed because wool has natural odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent properties. For minor exterior dirt, we recommend gently spot-cleaning. Heavily soiled sleeping bags can be machine washed.
- Every sleeping bag should be used with a sleeping mat, as insulation is compressed underneath and cannot trap air or warmth. More info on choosing the right mat can be found here.
