High-quality summer blanket sleeping bag

The "Biopod DownWool Summer Comfort" is the ideal camping sleeping bag for the best holiday season from late spring to early autumn and offers an excellent ratio of insulation to weight and pack size.

Grüezi bag® sleeping bags offer the best sleeping comfort and functionality

Grüezi bag sleeping bags have received numerous awards for their excellent insulation and well-thought-out designs.

  • DownWool® - the better down: Unlike conventional down, DownWool® retains its insulating properties even in high humidity of up to 90%. This means DownWool® offers better thermal performance, even in cold, wet conditions.
  • Wider temperature range: DownWool® sleeping bags have a wider temperature range where you feel comfortable. Wool balances temperature fluctuations like a light natural air conditioner.
  • Drier sleeping environment: The blend of 70% animal welfare-certified down (RDS-certified) and 30% wool from the Alps in DownWool® sleeping bags creates a dry, balanced sleeping environment. Wool effectively wicks away moisture and provides warmth even when damp.
  • Best sleep quality:longer sleep, faster falling asleep and better sleep through the night, all thanks to the wool content in the DownWool® insulation filling
  • Well-thought-out cut for optimal freedom of movement: The comfortable cut allows the body to assume a relaxed position, ensuring a peaceful, restful sleep. Even in the mummy shape, you can sleep more soundly, as you can turn around both on your side with your leg bent and within the sleeping bag.
  • Avoidance of cold bridges: Our slightly wider cut reduces unpleasant cold bridges caused by compressed insulation
  • Lightweight and small pack size: ultra-light, robust and recycled materials save weight .
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.

FEATURES

  • Pillow compartment :If you put a fleece jacket, for example, in the pillow compartment, the sleeping bag has a non-slip pillow.
  • Adjustable hood with  face baffle :The thermal bulge adapts perfectly to the shape of your head. When it's cold, only a small hole remains open, reducing heat loss from the face.
  • Inside & outside pocket: For valuables and things you prefer to keep close to you.
  • Zipper:
    • Two-way auto-lock zipper: The zipper can be opened and closed from either end, inside or outside. The auto-lock prevents it from opening accidentally.
    • White zipper: So you can find the zipper more easily in the dark.
    • Zipper with anti-snag zipper and sturdy webbing underneath :This makes the zipper even easier to operate without pinching the outer fabric.
    • Zipper with lined  zipper cover :so that heat cannot escape and no cold bridges are created.
  • Chamber construction: H-chambers, V-shaped (on the top)
  • Convertible: Can be opened to form a large blanket (62.9 inches wide).
  • Can be connected: The sleeping bag can be connected to another “Biopod DownWool Summer Comfort sleeping bag” to create a double sleeping bag (select the zipper version on the left and right so that they close together).

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL®?

What makes this sleeping bag special is its innovative insulation. In a DownWool® sleeping bag, you'll immediately feel the wide comfort temperature range where you're neither too cold nor too warm. The insulation is also naturally more resistant to high humidity.

This is achieved through a mechanical blend of 70% animal-welfare-certified down (RDS-certified) and 30% wool from the Alps. This combination is patent-pending and acts like a light and natural climate control system.

Down: outstanding insulation performance
High-quality down insulates exceptionally well at low weight. However, down clumps when exposed to high humidity (from air, sweat, condensation) and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this problem with the innovative DownWool® insulation.

Wool: effective moisture and temperature regulation
Thanks to the addition of wool in DownWool®, the down stays naturally drier and thus retains its insulating effect. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture through its capillaries and release it gradually to the outside.
DownWool® remains insulating even in up to 90% humidity. Wool fibers rise when damp and can increase the loft by up to 30%, which further improves insulation.
DownWool® not only regulates moisture effectively but also body temperature. Wool prevents chilling from evaporative cooling and retains warmth even when damp—something no other material can do. Wool naturally creates a cozy microclimate due to its unique climate-balancing properties.
The body needs a lot of energy to regulate temperature. Wool supports this process with its excellent temperature-balancing capabilities.
Additionally, wool neutralizes unpleasant odors.

The result: excellent insulation and a wide temperature comfort range where you feel good and sleep well. DownWool® is also more resistant to moisture, making DownWool® sleeping bags from Grüezi bag® popular all-rounders.

CARE

Washing

  • Washing instructions are located inside the sleeping bag.
  • The sleeping bag can be washed by hand or in a machine on the wool cycle with down detergent at a max. of 30 °C/86 °F. Turn inside out, close the zipper, run an extra rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
  • After washing, remove the item, fluff it up, and run another spin cycle at a maximum of 600 rpm.

Drying

  • Dry in a tumble dryer at a max. of 60 °C/140 °F and be sure to add 2–3 tennis balls to help break up clumps.
  • Repeat drying cycles several times. After each cycle, remove the bag, fluff it, and allow it to cool in between cycles.
  • The dryer must be set to a timed program to fully dry the down.
  • If no dryer is available, lay the sleeping bag on a drying rack on sunny days and shake it out frequently so air reaches both sides.

When is drying complete?

If the sleeping bag still hasn’t returned to its original loft, continue drying until it feels fuller than before.
Depending on the water resistance of the outer fabric, the drying process can take a minimum of 2 days depending on your dryer model.
The down must be completely dry. If not properly dried and fluffed, down feathers can clump, potentially damaging the bag beyond repair. You'll know the sleeping bag is fully dry when it feels fuller and thicker than before. Damp down can smell unpleasant, but this smell will disappear once dried.

TIP

  • Down sleeping bags should be tumble-dried from time to time (especially after a trip) with tennis balls to remove excess moisture.
  • Store sleeping bags dry and loosely in the storage bag, not packed tightly.
  • When packing into the compression sack, stuff the bag starting from the foot end—don’t roll or fold it.
  • Better than washing is simply airing out your sleeping bag. DownWool® bags rarely need washing because wool naturally resists odors and dirt. For minor exterior stains, gently spot-clean only. Heavily soiled bags can be machine-washed if needed.
  • Always use a sleeping pad underneath the sleeping bag, as insulation compresses underneath and can’t trap warm air effectively. For more info on sleeping pads, click here.
