Those who sleep well are relaxed and fit for the day. The basic prerequisite for this is a balanced sleeping climate, which lavalan® AlmWolle creates perfectly. Exactly the AlmWolle that is in our Grüezi bag sleeping bags!
The AlmWolle used in our sleeping bags acts like a natural air conditioner:
Our body releases moisture at all times. If there is too much humidity in the sleeping bag, we freeze and we can no longer think of a good night's sleep. Wool has the ingenious property of absorbing moisture and only releasing it in small amounts. That is why there is no evaporation cold in our AlmWolle sleeping bag, because wool still warms perfectly even when wet!
STRUCTURE OF A WOOL FIBER
Due to its nested structure, the wool fiber can absorb moisture and thus optimally regulate the sleeping climate.

For its Biopod product line, Grüezi bag uses wool, the "filling wool from sheep from the Alpine region". It is processed and delivered by the well-known wool supplier lavalan®. Regional products and short distances are important to us.
WHY IS WOOL EXACTLY THE RIGHT MATERIAL FOR YOUR SLEEPING BAG?
Studies such as those by Woolmark Australia show that you sleep longer and more restfully with wool because it creates the ideal sleeping temperature of 33°C body temperature for us humans almost perfectly. Other materials only do this inadequately. Synthetic duvets in particular are clearly inferior to wool, especially to lavalan® AlmWolle. And then happens what nobody wants: you kick yourself free in your sleep and get hypothermic...
This was tested in sleep laboratories at an actually pleasant ambient temperature of 22°C.
By the way, couples also sleep comfortably under a blanket made of alpine wool, because the wool fiber regulates each body temperature separately.
Robust, natural, antibacterial, biodegradable and renewable: Sheep's wool, in our case the special lavalan® AlmWolle, is a naturally renewable raw material that can be shorn annually and can be degraded again at the end of its life without leaving any residue. ALMWOLLE OR DOWNWOOL? WHEN WE RECOMMEND WHAT INSULATION
The sleeping bags with lavlan® AlmWolle insulation have been developed for temperatures in the plus range. They show their strengths especially in high humidity, such as on rivers, lakes or the sea. Because the AlmWolle can absorb a lot of moisture without losing its insulating ability. That is the reason why you will always have a dry, warm climate in your sleeping bag with AlmWolle.
If your sleeping bag is to be used in temperatures around freezing and below, we recommend our DownWool Subzero and Ice sleeping bags.
The sleeping bags with DownWool filling offer an optimal ratio of insulation and weight. The proportion of down insulates excellently and makes the sleeping bag light. Thanks to its moisture-regulating effect, the wool ensures an optimal feel-good climate.
